Long Cane Baptist Church

Back a couple of weeks ago, we were invited to come back today and present our work to the people of Long Cane Baptist Church in Gabbettsville, Georgia.

I am thankful for answered prayers. I had been praying that the Lord would protect our DVD. And He DID!! I'll explain why I was so burdened to pray... Back in December our presentation DVD was on our computer and ready to be burned onto a disc. We were hit with a computer virus and lost everything. We were so disappointed. We did everything to try and recover our pictures and music. Nothing worked. So, after we were able to buy a new computer, the Lord quickly provided all the pictures that we lost and then some, from off the internet. Thank goodness we owned the music discs, so all we had to do was download those.

Now back to today's services. For Sunday School, we were able to attend the young/middle aged married class. The lesson was an ongoing study in Romans 3 and 4. The lesson today was about the Justification of Abraham.

For the morning service, we were able to show our DVD. Sanford preached a sermon on "Keeping Your Eyes On Jesus" from Matthew 14. A question he asked that was very thought provoking was, "How far could Peter have gotten, if he had kept his eyes on Jesus?" This is something that we can find out when we get to Heaven one day.

The people of Long Cane Baptist Church are such a rare find. They love the Lord, their Pastor, his family and of course each other. They are strong believers in supporting missions, home and abroad.

There is not a website for the church, but if you would like more information about them, just leave us a comment. We'll be happy to share their address and phone number.

Philadelphia Baptist Church

We attended the Jubilee On The Hill at Philadelphia Baptist Church in Calhoun, Georgia, on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Both service were successful. There is no doubt that the Lord was there.

On Wednesday, Bro. Duane Moore preached a very moving sermon. On Thursday, the service was more for the young people in the Christian Schools that attended. There were several schools there, if I remember correctly, there were over 300 people in attendance for that service. God really moved across the auditorium. There were 2 teen Preacher Boys, that did an awesome job preaching about a "Goodly Heritage" and "Not Being An Ordinary Man."

Along with this wonderful preaching, was some wonderful singing. The church choir, teen duets and trios along with the Inman Family all did a splendid job.

Our family was truly blessed by these meetings.

Southwest Baptist Church

We visited Southwest Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia this morning. It was a drop in visit, to meet the Pastor and church family. Pastor Peacock and his entire church family were very friendly.

Pastor Peacock preached on "How should a Christian celebrate Valentine's Day". We are looking forward to the next time we are in their area; so we can visit with them again.

You can visit their website HERE.

Long Cane Baptist Church

We were able to attend Sunday night's service at the Long Cane Baptist Church in Gabbettsville, Georgia. We were invited by our mission board's president Dr. Darrell Hayes. He was speaking in their annual Winter Revival.

The first thing that I noticed when we drove up was that the church building was old. Of course, I missed the church sign at the road, since we were trying not to be late, so I missed the year on the sign. When we walked in the building, I was excited. I knew that the building had to be built in the 1800's, and it was.

The service was wonderful. There was no doubt that the Lord was there. The special singing went right along with the sermon, that Dr. Hayes preached.

We were asked to come back so Sanford can present our ministry and to preach on Sunday, February 22nd.

Snow and Ice

We were not able to make the meeting in Bristol, Virgina. We had to stop on the way due to the road conditions. The ice had gotten to the point, that the wind caused the car to slide. God had a hedge of protection around us. A hotel was located at the exit we were at and we were able to get one of the last rooms available.

I hope we can make it back to visit that church very soon.

Our Mission Agency

My family and I are proud to say, that we are now members of the Global Fundamental Baptist Missions, Inc. We began the application process several months back, after the recommendation of our pastor. I am so thankful now, that we followed through with this.

In December, Sanford met with the founder of the board. After meeting ,talking and getting to know each other, he knew that this is where God wanted us. This was not a quick process. In fact, we were told that it would be several months, before anything would progress. The Lord moved things along in His own timing. We are very excited to be a part of this Mission Agency. Sanford's first meeting with the founder had to be postponed, because he (the founder) had to travel to India to check on other Missionaries who were being persecuted. At the end of our interview the President of the Board invited us to be with him this week end. We feel like the Missionaries are truly cared about with G.F.B.M.I.

You can read more about the mission board and the persecutions HERE.

Bluestone Baptist Church

My family and I had the opportunity to visit Bluestone Baptist Church in Danielsville, Georgia for their evening service last night. I met Pastor George Lovely at a preacher's fellowship, although we haven't had a chance to see one another for over a year, He and his church were very welcoming.
Pastor Lovely is using Sunday nights to teach through the book of Revelations. It was a very informing lesson. I have never heard a message on the silence in Heaven. It is amazing how many times you can read something before you actually see it. That is why we have to "search the scriptures daily."
Bluestone Baptist Church is preparing for their Winter Revival with Evangelist Ron DeGarde. It will be held February 15-20. Please pray for this meeting and plan to attend, if possible.
Bluestone Baptist Church is located at :

February Prayer Letter

It is hard to believe, that January has passed, and we are entering into February. We have witnessed the power of God, not only work in our lives but in the lives of others we have met through the month.

God blessed me with a temporary job in October. I was able to work with Federal Express for their Christmas rush. God then blessed me with a lay off from that job at Christmas; it is unusual to see a lay off as a blessing. Having the door closed on my job, allowed God to open the door to full time deputation.

On January 23, God allowed us to pay off our car! We were able to pay it off early, and we are now debt free! God has been dealing with us over the last three years about getting out of the bondage of debt. After much prayer, fasting, and work He did it! Jamie was so excited when we walked out of the finance building he did the “debt free” dance.

God opened the door for us to make a trip to Florida and South Carolina at the end of January. We were motivated on these trips by the powerful preaching, the souls that were saved, and the decisions that were made during these services. God is good; He kept us safe while on the road. We only traveled about 1600 miles in January, with no problems! God has kept the car up and running.

Please continue to pray for us as we allow God to lead us. Our prayer requests are:

1. Support - both prayer support and financial support. We are under 10% support at this time.

2. Safety - Please pray God will keep us safe as we travel, and we will not see any problems with our car.

3. Please pray that God will supply the funds for upcoming maintenance on our car. The maintenance projects will cost nearly $1000.00. That includes transmission service, timing chain, brake work, etc.

4. Pray we see souls saved. Our main purpose is to win souls.

5. Pray we will be a blessing where ever God leads us.

6. Pray for the churches we visit. You can read about where we have been on our web site.
Please pray for the members of these churches, many of them are out of jobs and need to lifted up in prayer.
Let us never lose sight that God is in control, and he will keep us. Let’s not be distracted by Satan, and keep doing the work of the Lord.

In His Service,

Sanford Tullis
