Blessed, Encouraged and Excited.

We are at the Heartland Baptist Bible College, in Oklahoma City this week. I don't think I was truly ready for what takes place at this conference. This is our first time here and even though we had been told what it is like, you have to be here to understand it. We were asked this morning by a member of our host family, that we are staying with; if we were "blown away" with the conference? I have been thinking about that all day, and I have to say that I'm not blown away, because I know the God I serve can do anything!

I am how ever Blessed: I am blessed to know that every time a church planter stands and shares his work and presents a need, and that need is met; it gives us a chance to see a prayer answered! Every need that is presented in this conference has been bathed in prayer, and each one is a burden to a fellow church planter and when the offerings start to be called out, and the total rises, we get to see God work. Yesterday we had one Pastor who needed a new roof on his church, and when the final tally was read, there was an extra $1000.00 raised. The same Pastor was told yesterday by his contractor, that he had made a mistake on the estimate and it would cost an extra $1000.00. I don't know of any where I could be and see this many prayer requests being answered at one time.

I am also encouraged: I am encourage because what is happening this week at Heartland, can't be done; according to Wall Street. According to Wall Street and the banks, and the Unemployment Office and the Government we are broke. When we watch the news they tell us the end is near, that is impossible to raise money for a need today without the government's help. I just want to say it is encourages me to know that it may be impossible for everyone else, but not for God. I am encourage to know that there are still churches and Christians today that are used by God to advance His work, and will stay in the fight and see that the job gets done.

I am excited: I am excited to know that each Church Planter that presents his work this week represents a church. It excites to me know that next year, or two or three years down the road, those same churches will be back; but they will be the ones standing, and giving $50, $100, or $200 to help another church planter to get to his field and to see his burden that God gives him come to pass.

Yes, it is worth the trip, no matter what.

January Prayer Letter

January 4, 2010

Dear Pastor, Church and Friends,

I hope everyone had a safe and happy New Year! I am looking forward to seeing what God has in store for 2010. I don’t see the New Year as a new beginning, but as a continuation of the work. Just because the calendar page turned, our work doesn’t stop. I was reminded of this in Wal-Mart. I ran into a former co worker who I had witnessed to for years at work. He was living the life of a drunkard and several people had given up on him. When I saw James, the first thing he said was, “Guess what I did, I found Jesus!” He told me he accepted Christ four months ago, and has stopped cussing, smoking and drinking! He said he hasn’t found a church home yet, but is looking. Thank God, even when everyone else gives up on someone, Jesus doesn’t. If there is someone in your life that you think is a lost cause, don’t give up, Jesus hasn’t! Please pray that God will continue to work in James’ life and he will lead him to the church he needs to be in.

Thank God for New Canaan Baptist Church, for joining with us with their prayer and financial support! That puts us at the 10% mark for our support. That is a big milestone, because the first 10% is the toughest portion of support to reach.

We are one week away from leaving for Oklahoma City, for the Heartland Baptist Bible College, Church Planter’s Conference, and we are about $800.00 short of the money needed to make the trip. Please pray God will supply this need for us.

I will be looking to preach some Cowboy Church meetings, at rodeos this year when our schedule will allow me to do so. Pray for God’s power to be on these meetings, and that we will see souls saved. Remember to pray for our safety, and our support level to increase, and for the doors to be opened for us to present our work to more people this year.

Prayer Request

We have been loaned a car to drive to Oklahoma City, for the Heartland Baptist Bible College Church Planting Conference. This conference is a very important step in us being able to return back to Montana quickly. The Pastors and churches that will be represented at this conference are there to find new Church Planters, and Missionaries to support. In these days of economic turmoil, it is a blessing to find churches who are looking for new Missionaries to support. We still need about $800.00 to be able to make the trip.

Please pray that the Lord will open this door and supply this need for us. When He opens this door, we will be leaving on Monday morning, January 11 and will return home the following Friday.

Thank you,
Sanford Tullis
